Here are the three visa categories:


Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189

For those who wish to settle in Australia permanently, this visa subclass 189 is the most relevant one. With a score of at least 65 in Skillselect program, you will get a golden opportunity to work and live in Australia forever. Depending on the profession of choice, it is important to have enough skill set. Moreover, the applicant must be under 45 years and the skill should be listed in the occupation list.


Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190

A sponsorship by territorial government or state government is mandatory to obtain this visa. The individuals filing this visa must be below 45 years of age and possess the required skill for the job applied for.


Work Regional Visa Subclass 491

This subclass 491 visa is replacing the 489 visa with new changes allowing the eligible skilled workers and their families to live, work, and study for 5 complete years. This visa is granted for designated regional areas of Australia where sponsorship by an eligible family member, or an Australian state, or territory government agency is required. Moreover, the visa holders can apply for permanent residency visa after three years.
Any part of Australia other than Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane comes under regional area.
